at Green Hills
Blakeford at Green Hills (“Blakeford”) has offered a continuum of care for its senior residents since its opening in the early summer of 1996. In 2005, Blakeford completed an expansion of its Nashville campus by constructing two (2) additional skilled nursing wings. As part of Blakeford’s current repositioning efforts for its Life Care Community, GMK Interiors is providing full-service interior design services to help reposition the campus to meet the needs of older adults well into the future.
The Blakeford has a current service mix of 124 independent living apartments, 45 assisted living apartments, and 82 skilled nursing beds. The overall goal of this project is to strengthen the organization’s overall financial position while adding a level of amenities and services that will be attractive to the next generation of seniors. The current project expands independent living by building an new tower housing 40 additional independent living apartments. Additionally, the expansion will include construction of a new resident wellness center that includes a pool, group exercise space, gym, and locker rooms, as well as expanding and updating spaces/venues for dining options in independent living. Another objective of the renovation is to create an assisted living licensed residential Memory Care neighborhood on the campus by either repurposing existing space or by adding additional square footage on the site.
In total, the expansion will add a total of approximately 87,000 sf and will also include renovation of existing independent living residences, skilled nursing common spaces, and assisted living common spaces and resident apartments.
